Zachariah Matthew Josanno
The Dream
Name: Zachariah Josanno, just call him Zach
Age 17
Occupation: Student
Species: Human
The Visage
Avatar Claim: Adam Brody
Eye Color:Brown
Hair Color: Brown
Height: 6'
Weight: 180
Facial Features: A smile that overtakes his face and big brown "puppy dog" eyes.
Anything Else? His hair often looks like it's black when it's not sunny out.
Overall Dress/Appearance: Zachariah's dark brown curls tend to stick up in several directions, at least one of them falling into his eyes at any given time. His eyebrows are slightly bushy, but they frame the tops of his eyes rather nicely. He has a sort of heart shaped face, with high cheekbones and a long straight nose. You rarely run into him without seeing a smile on his face, which are surprisingly full of straight teeth. His neck is quite long, which has come in handy several times when he overhears some sort of dispute going on (he has a habit of wanting to make things right, but not wanting to be nosy at the same time). He's a very tall young man, with long arms and legs and broad shoulders. He usually keeps his clothing simple, a pair of jeans and t-shirt. He only wears something halfway fancy when he has a concert; then it's a suit and tie.
The Demeanor
Overall Personality: Zach's able to find the good in most situations and when he can't, he does his best to remedy the problem. He has a genuine concern for people, especially people that he cares about, but even with strangers, he greets them like they're old friends and if they happen to be unhappy, he'll try his best to help or at least cheer them up. He's been known to be easily discouraged by a few harsh words, but he doesn't usually let it make him think that the person in question isn't a good person. He only dislikes it when people are too full of themselves and think that they're always right. Nothing annoys him more than when people can't seem to see beyond their own thoughts and beliefs to a new perspective.
People who meet Zach get the idea that he's quite naive and really has no idea of how the real world works. This couldn't be further from the truth. He knows full well that bad things happen and that there are corrupt people in this world and he definitely dislikes it when people assume that that's not the case. He hardly wears rosed colored glasses; he simply tries to see the brighter side of things and not dwell on bad things. True, he's not always the sharpest crayon in the box, but that doesn't make him any less capable of knowing what's what. He'll do what needs to be done, even if he sometimes trips over himself terribly. He doesn't try to make himself out to be perfect, so he does his best to let mistakes roll of his back after speaking the proper apologies and such.
Like any decent artist, Zach is quite the romantic, even if his past relationships have all ended in ways that left something to be desired. He dreams of his soulmate, and never gives up on his hope in finding "the one" even when his heart is broken. If there's someone he likes, he can be very stubborn in his pursuit, even if the only hope is friendship. Anything will do, so long as he can get to know this special person.
What is your character's deepest secret? He falls in love very easily.
What is your character's strongest desire? To be able to get along with people as much as possible.
The Past
Family: Carmen Josanno, 34 [mother]-they've been very close his entire life, since it was just the two of them. Now she's very pregnant and Zach eagerly awaits his younger half sibling.
Wyatt Baxter, 36 [step father]-Since he and Carmen got together four years ago and married two, Zach and Wyatt have gotten along rather nicely. He even calls Wyatt "Dad" nowadays.
Previous and Current Romantic Relationships: A few boy and girlfriends throughout his life. That might not seem like much, but Zach falls in love very easily; they each have special places in his heart and he felt grief when it came to an end. He's sort of looking for "the one".
History: Zach, in the eyes of some people, was an accident. You see, Carmen Josanno was just a lovesick sixteen year old who went a little faster than most parents would have liked. As careful as she and George were, she still got pregnant. Not being the most responsible person in the world, George informed her that he wasn't going to be able to handle this, and broke up with her. She was greatly disheartened, but she vowed that she was keeping the baby, because she felt like she loved him or her already. Unfortunately, her parents weren't so enthused by this. So an abandoned teenager who was determined to provide a good life for her baby, gathered up whatever money she had (money she had planned to use for college, but that didn't seem to be in the cards for her) and bought a little apartment and all the other necessities until eight months after finding out. Her water broke while she was working at the ice cream shop she had been working at since she was fifteen. Several hours later, Zachariah Josanno was born.
For the next year, it was pure pandemonium. Carmen rushed from place to place, school, work, back home so that Zach wouldn't start calling the babysitter "Mama"...it was pretty insane. Between this, Carmen worked on her photography skills, often sending in pictures into contests, just to see if she could earn extra money doing something she enjoyed (have you ever had to tell five year old brats that we were out of chocolate? You'd start hating ice cream shops too), often taking Zach along with her. She wished that she could spend more time with her baby boy, because she loved him so much, but between her and the fifteen year old she was paying, it was a long way to stretch. It ended up paying off, however; she did well enough at school that she was able to get enough scholarship money for college to at least survive. Thus began the travels of Carmen and Zach. She's worked several odd jobs, while sending in photos in between, which were decent enough to get in some extra money. It was due to his mother's hard work that Zach quickly learned the value of a dollar.
Carmen's university allowed her to study abroad, which eventually lead to the three year old and his nineteen year old mother to live in Italy for a good amount of his childhood. Carmen was fluent, despite her American birth, and she was able to convince the more conservative people she encountered that she was Zach's big sister, so they got along pretty well in Italy. By the time Zach was ten, he could speak both English and Italian fluently, and had a fair amount of friends. Additionally, he discovered a love of music and started learning how to play the violin at school, but at the time, that was the most they could do, since Carmen was still struggling ever so slightly with money. He didn't complain, knowing that she was trying her very best, and simply enjoyed what he could do.
When he was thirteen, Carmen found a new boyfriend. Wyatt Baxter was just here on vacation and happened to get Carmen as a waitress one night. Sparks flew almost immediately and they started dating. There was a time when Zach would have been more than a little overprotective of his mother, but at this age, he was more than open to having Wyatt around. Perhaps that was part of why this went so well; even when Wyatt came back to the States, the three of them all stayed in contact. Wyatt even paid for proper violin lessons and an actual instrument for Zach. It was when he came to Italy again a year later that he proposed to Carmen. They were married in a lovely church a year later, with Zach as the best man. It was actually rather small, close friends only.
After the wedding, they lived in Italy for some time before Carmen expressed a desire to go back to the States. That was what brought them to Forks, Washington this summer. Now he's about to start school at the nearby high school. He can't complain; it's a nice little town and he likes the idea of broadening his horizons. He's just hoping to make friends; he's spent most of his summer practicing. He's actually gotten quite good in the past three years. Little does he know that this rainy little town is a lot more exciting than he realizes.

Zachariah was preparing to head home from a long day of playing. Despite the fact that he was thrilled to be able to get a license so he could make some money, some of the songs got redundant. He'd have to find some new ones. He suddenly froze when he heard someone's voice. He bent down behind a bench, listening intently. He frowned softly in sympathy for the girl. She seemed so upset...but bitter at the same time. He bit his upper lip as he tried to decide if he should go over and say something.
"Oh, I'm sure that's not true" Zachariah said at her depressing words, scarcely realizing that he had said it out loud. Then he heard the echo of his thick accent in the air and cover his mouth with his hand. After all, what he was doing could probably constitute as spying. Still, she seemed so sad...he wanted to do something.
