"Would you quit calling me sir?"Federico had a sort of attitude to them. Federico tilted his head slightly as he replied to her,"Oh? Well,I'm sorry if I was mistaken. Tell me,Jack seems to know me since I have been going to the Lodge for three years. What else did he say about me?" Federico then saw her look behind her and back to him. "Why do you keep doing that?"

"Would you quit calling me sir?" "Sorry." Penelope said, making the work more than the one syllable it usually is, "I end up callin' most people sir or m'am. It was how I was raised." Her southern accent was strong as always. "Oh? Well,I'm sorry if I was mistaken. Tell me,Jack seems to know me since I have been going to the Lodge for three years. What else did he say about me?" "Nothin' much, honestly." she told him, "He said he didn't know much about you, apart from what you drink." "Why do you keep doing that?" She shrugged and then said, "Dunno...it just sounds like someone or somethin' in the trees or bushes behind me..."

Federico actually couldn't blame her for calling him 'sir'. If that was how she was raised,he wasn't going to argue about it. Federico then nodded,replying,"I'm sorry I snapped about that. I didn't know,miss....now I was raised to say that so we are even." Federico then shifted his tone to look like he wasn't pleased. Federico then replied,"Oh,well--even more so,you should be careful about Jack. Man is little strange if you ask me. " Federico then heard her answer and before he could answer,he heard someone ruffling through the bushes and Federico said,"Miss Penelope,I know this may sound strange but you might need to stand behind me..." Federico then looked to the bushes and a strange man appeared and from the smell of him,he was a vampire and he was hungry---proably here for miss Penelope's blood and he didn't know why--but a strong urge over came him to protect her.

"I'm sorry I snapped about that. I didn't know,miss....now I was raised to say that so we are even." Penelope nodded. "That's all right." she said, "It's understandible." She nodded. "Oh,well--even more so,you should be careful about Jack. Man is little strange if you ask me. " She nodded. "He does seem a little off....but his intentions are good." "Miss Penelope,I know this may sound strange but you might need to stand behind me..." Penny raised an eyebrow. "Why...?" she didn't understand but when she saw the strange man appear from the greenary, she moved as quickly as she could behind Federico Desiderio, a handsome man she had just met, hoping he would protect her.

"Don't ask questions...just stand behind me and cover your neck...."Federico felt hunger over take him as he saw a man emerge from the bushes. He could smell vampire on him--it was just an old enemy of his. He growled at him and said,"What are you doing here?"
"Well,well,Federico,where have you been? Oh,who is your friend?"
"No one you need to be concerned with....you don't belong here..."
"Oh but she smells so delicious!" The vampire then lept,his destination to Penelope but before he could reach her,Federico grabbed him by his throat. The vampire choked as Feder's hand gripped on his throat. Federico growled to him,"You don't belong around here...I suggest you leave...if you knew what's good for you...."Federico felt a protective way go over him and he knew it was an urge to protect Penelope...

She stood behind Federico and covered her neck, not knowing there were other places a vampire could bite besides her neck. "What are you doing here?" Feder knew the man?, that was Penny's question. "Well,well,Federico,where have you been?" I take that as I yes she thought. "Oh,who is your friend?" Her eyes widened as she knew he meant her. "No one you need to be concerned with....you don't belong here..." Federico was protecting her? A girl he had just met? "Oh but she smells so delicious!" "I what?" Penelope said, finally speaking up. She was confused. She gasped as the guy came towards her, ready to attack her. She almost screamed but Federico grabbed him the throat. "You don't belong around here...I suggest you leave...if you knew what's good for you...." She couldn't believe he was protecting her. She then saw two more guys come out of the trees. "Uh...Federico..." she said, "I think ya've bigger fish to fry..."

Federico heard Penny's words and he looked to see the other two. He threw the guy he was holding onto a way,his head hitting a tree and cracking his neck in the process. Federico looked at the other two and he told Penny,"Penelope,you must do as I tell you. These guys will harm you,believe me I know..I know we only just met but you need to run. Run and find someplace safe while I fight these two off. Go!"

Penelope winces slightly as she heard the vampire's neck snap as he hit the tree. "Penelope,you must do as I tell you. These guys will harm you,believe me I know..I know we only just met but you need to run." "Run?" she questioned, "But Federico, I can't let you face the guys alone. I..." "Run and find someplace safe while I fight these two off. Go!" She just nodded and started running. She was never a fast runner and especially not in her 1 and 1/2 inch heels but she tried as hard as she could to run, like Federico said.

While Penny ran,Federico took a look at one of the vampires who grabbed him first and threw him across the way and made him land on the ground but Feder got up immediately and attacked him,knowing him across the ground but then he saw one of them was heading towards Penelope,Feder then ran at his vampire speed and picked her up in his arms and ran with all of his might.

Penelope kept running as fast as she could. Before she could say no, someone was lifting her into his arms. That someone was Federico Desiderio. Her one arm wrapped itself around his neck while her other hand rested on her heart in surprise. She was surprised that this handsome stranger picked her up and was carring her away. Also, the speed of the running was nothing like a humans. What was Federico...? "Federico?" Penelope questioned.

Federico knew he was breaking so many of the cardinal rules of the vampires. Especially the one with his running. Feder knew he could not lie about this---but he would be putting himself in danger. Federico thought he might explain. Federico then placed her down as they were in a place where she could be in public and no vampire would hurt her. Federico then sighed heavily and asked her," Are you alright?"

Penelope didn't know what was going on. Federico was running with an uncommon speed. She didn't know why but she felt like she belonged in Federico's arms. When he finally let her down, she was surprised that she didn't want to be put down. " Are you alright?" Penelope nodded. "I'm fine...." she said, "What's goin' on, Federico?"

Federico took a deep breath as he walked over to a tree near them and slammed his fist into it. Mentally kicking himself. Federico looked at her and asked,"You want to know the truth or the lie?" He would rather not tell her the truth--it would absoultly kill him to do so and knew he would be putting this girl he just me--in danger of other vampires.

Penelope watched as Federico punched a near by tree. "You want to know the truth or the lie?" Her heart started racing. "I think I'd like to hear the truth..." she said, "I don't think it's right to lie..." She didn't know what Federico would have to tell her...and she didn't know how she would react but she knew she would believe whatever he said, since he just saved her life.

Federico bit his lip. She wanted to know the truth,great....well,if she wanted the truth,she would have the truth. Federico then told her," You have to promise me though that what I am about to tell you,you CANNOT tell to anyone else. No one can know what I am about to say..." Federico then looked at her and said,"I'm a vampire..." He said it--right then and there.
