Alice didn't usually hunt on her own, mostly because Jasper wouldn't allow it, but also because it just felt odd. She'd been alone for so long, she was used to company now, and didn't like letting her thoughts take control. She spent far too much time angsting over what she didn't remember when she was alone, and it frustrated her. Today, however, was different. It was too sunny to be safe at school, so she took off on her own, appeasing the thirst she'd been ignoring for nearly a week.
At present she was on the trail of a herd of deer, flitting from tree to tree as she tracked them. She could smell the female the strongest, it was close to mating season. Venom welled in her mouth as a strong breeze told her she was getting closer, the flames scorching the back of her throat. With a burst of speed, she broke through to a clearing, crouching into an attack position on the outskirts of the herd.
Circling the deer without startling them was easy enough for her. The grass was tall enough that if she sunk low enough, she was invisible. Moving like a ghost, she inched closer as she circled, waiting for the opportune moment to strike. When one of the does went off on her own, she launched herself forward, tearing into the throat of the animal as they crashed to the ground. The red liquid gushed over her lips and consumed her, her thoughts focusing on the thudding of the creature's heart.
It went faster at first, hammering loudly as life was worked feverishly through the doe's veins. Then, as the body realized it could put up no more fight, it slowed. Beat by beat the tempo decreased, until it was no longer heard at all. Despite feeling full, the flames had only dimmed. Odd... She hadn't felt like this since she was a newborn. Oh well. She'd do her best to ignore it. Rising to her feet, Alice wiped the few stary drops of blood form her lips, turning when she heard someone approach behind her.

Jasper was getting hungry and it was getting harder to deal with human. Thankfully it was a bit of a sunny day so going to school was out of the question. He had wanted to do something with Alice but she had taken off before he had even known it was goign to be sunny out. Jasper had stayed at the house awhile but had found it rather boring he wanted his Alice. So he took off following her trail hoping to find her sooner rather then later.
It was a apparent to him she had been well was hunting could smell the blood a mile away. Not human of course otherwise Jasper wouldn't have known what to do. Especial since he hadn't gone hunting recently. He dark eyes could easily atest to that his jaw was tense like it usually was around humans. He followed his beloveds scent, knowing the wind would be distorting his scent. He just always felt happy around her and he couldn't help but give off happiness around her. Blissful peace, even if that's hardly how he felt at that moment. He broke through the line of tree's swiftly, his face blank, except for the small smile twitching on the corner of his lips.
"You found a snack." he said as he walked slowly, slowly for Jasper, over to her and her meal. He would have much prefered to have hunted with her. They usually did hunt together after all but maybe she had need some time to herself. But latly he noticed hadn't spent much alone time with Alice just them and he missed that. Jasper loved Alice he could spend time with her doing something or nothing and be content. She was just a great ball of energy to be around and kept him in a good mood.
Jasper was glad to see Alice but he knew it wouldn't take to long for his hunger to come back to the front of his mind. But they were at the perfect place to hunt miles and miles away from humans and plently of game. He could taste the venom in his mouth as he thoguht about it. But he pushed the thoughts away looking to Alice smiling at her.

Alice smiled as her beloved broke through the line of trees, and she danced forward to meet him. Even without the happiness radiating from him, she felt beyond happy to see him. Although she'd enjoyed the time to herself, she really didn't like being away from him for too long, both for her sanity and his safety. Not that she doubted his ability to handle himself, just sometimes he unknowingly got himself into unnecessary situations. Theirs was a complicated relationship that made perfect sense to them.
"That I did," she replied as she reached him, taking his hand. "Have you come to find one as well? You really shouldn't wait much longer," was added as her free hand came up to trace the dark circles under his eyes, which grew more pronounced as time passed, betraying his hunger. "You know you worry me when you do this," Alice said concernedly, looking up into his eyes. She knew their lifestyle was difficult for him, but really, did fasting make it any easier?
Not wanting to beat the topic to death or make him feel guilt-tripped into feeding, she croushed a bit and grinned, challenging, "First one to bring down a buck gets whatever they want out of the other for a night?" It was childish, but, really, none of them like the idea of killing something to keep themselves alive. Making a game out of it made things a little easier. Besides, it was an excuse to spend time together.

Jasper couldn't help but let a smile over take his face at the sight of her smiling at him it was unavoidable and obvious how he felt to see her. He was glad she was happy to see him maybe he could avoid the boredom of another day and spend it with Alice. He hoped so he liked the idea more then any other option.
Jasper listen as she spoke but didn't answer her question. He gave her hand a small squeeze as she touched his face anyone else and he wouldn't have let them touch him but this was Alice and he trusted her more then anything. Jasper glanced down at her last comment he knew he needed to feed. It was proabably best from him. "Your right Alice." he said simply she always did seem t be looking out for him.
The small smile returned to his lips when she offered up a challenge to him. Jasper could never turn Alice down and after all what the winner might get was rather amusing to him. Though he wouldn't know what to do if he won. He understood Alice motives behind it all but would say a word about it. "You're on but you better not go easy on me. I hate it when people let me win. " he said simply kissing her gently on the forhead.

Alice could tell he was still against the idea of feeding even when she spoke to him. The look in his eyes was enough to tell her that. They read each other easily, which is why conversation often didn't take place between them. A look was enough to convey more words than were necessary to begin with. She twined her fingers with his as he squeezed her hand, smiling gently as he finally gave in and agreed with her. Not that she'd wanted to force hm into anything, she just knew how hard it got and didn't want him to needlessly torture himself.
Her bell-like laughter pealed through the space at his reply, her hands releasing his. "Don't worry, I'll do my best. Seeing as I just fed, I can't guarantee that this will be much of a challenge, but I will certainly not let you win." The grin remained spread across her face, softening as his lips pressed against her forehead. She lifted her head before he'd straightened completely and kissed him, smiling a little against his lips. "Let me know when you're ready," she said quietly, chuckling a little. She hadn't done this since she'd taken Nessie hunting when she was little.
((eep! sorry it took so long.))

Jasper hadn't realized how tight his jaw was clenched till he relaxed it. He was usually calm and happy around Alice she was his outlet. But when it came to hunting Jasper had his own issues and hated the fact Alice always sorted his problem out for him. He didn't like to be a burden to her Jasper loved Alice and didn't want her to suffer because of him. Though he did appreciate her sometimes he felt like his issues with feeding really got to Alice. He hated to make he worry so much but her had his own fear he was dealing with.
Jasper heard Alice's laugh and didn't even try to suppress the smile it caused to spread across his lips. He knew she wouldn't go easy he trusted her. "Oh I'm ready." he said kissing her breifly beofre he dashed off dissappering into the trees. He let venom fill her mouth as she took in a deep breath looking for the closest animal finding a small doe he bypassed it for the stronger scent of a large buck. He glanced back to see if he could see Alice but quickly turned her attention to the buck he was coming up on.

Alice nodded as Jasper said he was ready, returning the kiss before croushing low, listening. She heard the deer as well and followed after him, moving a little slower due to being so full. Seeing Jasper look back for her, she flashed a grin then continued weaving around the herd, hanging back when she saw Jasper head for the buck. She launched toward the doe herself, still thristy but not wnating anything large. If she overfed she'd feel sick the rest of the day, and she hated that sluggish feeling it gave her.
Finishing quickly, she stood up and turned, listening to the movement in the forest while waiting for Jasper to finish. She'd nkown before she'd asked that he would win this, and it was really what she wanted, now that she thought about not. Not only did she want for him to eat, but they'd not spent time together just the two of them in quite awhile. It would be interesting to see what he would ask for, and she'd do her best not to watch him, not to find out what would happen as soon as he decided it. For once, she wanted to be surprised.
