It was so much nicer to walk to school. Haley enjoyed the feeling of the concrete pathway beneath her feet as she strode down the road. She felt much happier knowing she would see her friends passing by in the neighboring cars on their way to school. She looked back over her shoulder, and in the distance, saw the imaginary border-line between Forks and LaPush. Ever since she'd become a werewolf, she'd been forced to transfer to the local tribal high school, but hated it. Haley was an optimist, so she tried to see the best in every situation, but LaPush High just brought her down. So, with a little forceful persuasion and a few shouting matches, she was back in her comfort zone at Forks.
Horns honked loudly at her as she ran across the middle of the street to get to school, even though she had the green walking man on the pedestrians sign. People were always so impatient, especially parents who had to go and work in places like Seattle. It just made her want to sit down and laugh at the rushing people, just to piss them off. But feeling nice today, Haley kept walking.
As soon as she was in range of the school's property she was immediately bombarded with hugs and ''OMG you're back!" from just about every one of her friends. It was great to see everyone again. She made her way down to the councelor's office, and sure enough, they gave her back her old schedual. No one had come and taken her seat in all but three of her seven classes. And two of the remaining four were band [where the seats changed daily] and soccer [where there was no seat].
As she made her way to her 1st period class, she realized what made her whole day seem weird. There were no Cullen's in her classes this year; definitely a good thing they'd all graduated. All through class, she was remanicing on the random times they'd run into her, and how the short one-Alice and the tall one with Bella-Edward had always hated her, though she and Alice would talk in class, it was obvious there was tension between the two. The rest of their family went along with it. She and Bella used to talk about them alot, but she would never answer Haley's questions. At one point she said 'i've been sworn to secrecy' and drew an imaginary 'X' across her heart.
Only then did Haley remember the old Quileute legands she'd been hearing for the last few years. But that was then, last year as a junior. This year was her senior year: she would make the most of it. Seriously: she and her friends were planning their big senior prank already, and with all the planning time they had, it would be the best! The bell ending the class rang loudly and she ran out to meet a few people on their way to 2nd period. As they walked outside, talking and laughing underneath the dark cloudy sky above Forks, Washington, her eyes fell upon the very creatures Haley was hoping not to encounter at school. The Cullens. Vampires. She was still uneasy about meeting them now that she realized why Edward and Alice had hated each her so much last year. Instead of staring too long, like most people did, she kept walking with her friends, though two of the girls payed them second glances. The boy next to her rolled his eyes and kept up with her pace. If they wanted to remanice on high school, for the 4th time, it was their choice, but Haley wanted no part in it.

As of right now, Zach was getting the hang of Forks High School. He didn't even need to check his schedule to make sure that he was going to the right class anymore. Additionally, most of the people around here were pretty friendly. It seemed like they all wanted to get to know the "new kid from Italy", which made him laugh a bit. He had never really been the new kid before, and the fact that he was under that type of microscope and was actually the talk of the halls could have been very overwhelming. But then again, Zach had always been relatively easy going. He could live with having people talk about him. Not many people could say the same thing; they were either deathly afraid of being the biggest conversation topic or they absolutely adored the spotlight. Zach was more in the middle, letting it roll of his back. What did it matter anyway?
As he was strolling through the halls, with his backpack in hand (and his other hand feeling slightly empty for a lack of a violin case, even if it was safe in his locker), he caught sight of a girl who seemed to be going the same way he was. Apparently, he wasn't the only new person here, yet this girl didn't have a lost look at all. Even he had. It was almost as if she already knew where she was going. Curiosity got the better of him and he decided to go over and greet her. "Hi," he said, quite aware of his accent and sure that she would be as well. That was the only thing he was slightly self conscious about, and he could live with that, at the very least. Even his mother hadn't gained an accent in the thirteen years in Italy. "Are you going this way? I think I'm in your class...although I haven't seen you before. Are you new here too?"
Perhaps it was too forward, and that thought occurred to Zach. All the same, he couldn't say he minded all that much. If she thought that he was being this way, he'd be able to tell and then make the proper apologies. The deed had already been done and he would just have to live with her reaction. Still, he hoped that she didn't mind. He hated to think that he would alientae someone without even meaning to, especially if he was going to have to be in the same class with her.

Haley knew about being the new kid. Although she'd lived in Forks all her life, she'd been [unwillingly] transferred to LaPush High by Uley and the rest so that she'd be nearer to the rest of the pack. Everyone in lapush was closely knit and comfortable. Adding a new kid to the school disrupted some sort of balence that went on there between the different cliques and clans for that matter. Maybe that's why she hated it so much, not because of the teachers or what they were learning/doing but because she didn't really fit in. All of her packmates were older than her except for a few and even they had their cliques outside of the pack. Knowing only a couple of people at school, and having them ingore you was harder than knowing no one at all in her opinion.
She was somewhat caught up in her own thoughts at the time. Haley was too busy thinking about how she'd have time to practice her clarinet, the piano, do her homework, and make it down to the reservation for a bonfire that night. Oh darn, that would mean family reunion. Not that she didn't like pack get-togethers but it got tedious, the questions about Forks. Since none of them ever came down there or to Port Angeles, they used Haley as the eyes and ears. One of these days she'd remember to bring a camera with her around the school and city that way she could stop retelling her weekly or monthly accounts of her life. Lucky them, she was allowed on the rez, so she wasn't the questionee. She'd be the new Leah if that happened, annoying and unwanted.
Only as she sighed did she realize there was someone else next to her. Haley turned her head and looked at him as they strode down the hallway. "Yeah, I'm heading off toward English, are you going there too?" She asked answering his question. Ah, so he was a new kid, just as she'd been at the rez. Always nice to make new friends, she thought. "Actually, no. I just transferred back to Forks High from LaPush. I'd been here up until last year when I switched. It's not as great as it is down here, so I switched back." She explained. The story was kind of repetative, so it sounded like she was rambelling on, when in truth, it was just her adventures around the school district. As they continued on toward class, she realized she'd forgotten to give him her name. "I'm Haley by the way."

Watching Nessie go through school those few years ago made the rest of the family how much they enjoyed the tedium of high school life. Although in reality they'd never moved, they came into the year as transfers. Rosalie, Emmett, and Jasper made appearances as seniors, with Edward, Bella and herself coming in as juniors. Nessie started from the beginning, wanting to experience all four years again. None of the family was sure why, but, then again, the girl was her mother's child. Oddity was to be expected.
She only hoped that none of them were recognized. It had been long enough that none of the students, but the teachers, on the other hand, may well remember them. That would be the one thing they'd do their damndest to avoid. Some, like Nessie, took drastic meaures to avoid being recognized, dying her hair a bit more red and wearing contacts. Hopefully Jacob wouldn't freak too badly upon seeing her. The rest of them, however, weren't that concerned. How likely was it that the teachers remembered every student that passed through their doors? Hopefully, not likely at all.
She was headed to her French class when she caught the stench. It also didn't help that her vision for the next hour of Jasper's life vanished. What on earth? she thought, brows knitting together. What was one of the pack doing here? Didn't they all go to school on the reservation? Glancing around, she spotted one she recognized from her last trip through school, the only female aside from Leah. Haley, she thought it was. Alice was close to approaching, to warn the girl not to say a word, when another boy approached, cutting her off. She hung back to watch, keeping herself poised to vanish if needbe.

Glad that she hadn't given him a weird look or brought out her can of pepper spray at the "weirdo", Zach smiled at the girl and nodded. "Yeah, that's the place." Great! So that meant he knew one more person in this place, something he would never object to. He nodded, listening to her explanation of her history with Forks High School. Now that was rough; switching back and forth between schools. For her sake, Zach hoped that this would be the last time. "Oh, I see," he responded, tempted to ask why she switched in the first place, but deciding against it. Why should he pry, after all? Besides, she had just introduced herself, to which he grinned and said, "It's a pleasure Haley. I'm Zach Josanno."
Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed someone standing rather close behind them. He turned his head slightly to look at the tiny girl with the spiky hair behind them, that seemed to have features that, for some reason, reminded him of Lea. He internally sighed. There she came again. What was it about her that she refused to escape from his thoughts? Truthfully, they didn't look that much alike...just the dark circles around their eyes and how ghostly pale they seemed. That was really a trait that anyone who hadn't slept or been out in the sun in a while (not a hard task in Forks) could have. Yet there was something else...something he couldn't place.
But he took his eyes away from the strange arrival, because staring would be rude on two counts, especially since he was having a conversation with someone.

Haley was glad she knew someone else in one of her classes. Sure she knew all the people she was friends with before her move but it felt good to make friends with new people. It felt natural since she'd been in LaPush, and meeting new people all the time. Sometimes she got the 'new kid' feeling because she didn't recognize everyone and wasn't exactly in on everything
[[not done...will finish soon xD ]]
