"What if I'm not a superhero?"
Monsters; they are source of fear for most, those creatures that lurk in the shadows, just waiting for the exact moment that your guard is let down. Of course, everyone knows that these creatures that fuel our deepest, darkest fears are just results of our wild imagination. There are no such things as monsters. At least, that is what we think to be true. Sadly, just because one doesn’t believe in monsters, that doesn’t mean that they don’t exist. After all, the human eye fails in seeing things as they should be seen, instead always second guessing themselves and trying to come up with a logical reason. If they had just actually thought about what they saw, instead of passing over it like it was nothing, they would realize that their world is far more dangerous then they ever dreamed it to be.
To say that Isabella Swan disliked the small town of Forks would be a huge understatement. She detested the constant over cast skies and the vast amount of green that covered every inch of nonmoving matter, making it look almost like some alien planet. However, there was only so much she could do to get out of going there for two weeks everyone summer to visit her father and she managed to put up with it till she turned twelve. It was then that she put her foot down, telling her father to come visit her instead of the other way around. Thus was the end of the dreaded visits.
Five years passed and Bella found many new changes in her life. Her mother, Renee, finally remarried and wanting to give her mother a chance to travel with her new husband, Bella made one of the hardest choices in her young life; she would move to Forks to live with her father. It took a while to convince Renee that she wanted to go, a lie if one was ever told, but she was finally able to do so and with a silent goodbye to the sun, she boarded the plane for the tiny town in Washington. Bella had known before arriving that this would be the biggest change to take place, something that was proven on her first day of school.
After setting eyes on group of five teenagers (who she later found out to be the Cullens’), Bella noticed something different about them. It was obvious that the five siblings kept to themselves, putting distance between them and the rest of the student body but this was far from being the only thing that Bella took note of. Even though they were all adopted, they had the same pale skin and striking features that would have put even Helen of Troy to shame. Dark circles rested under their warm, amber eyes, making her wonder if they got enough sleep yet this did nothing to hinder their looks.
It doesn’t take Isabella long to notice that the Cullens were different in other ways than just by their looks or the outcast way that they acted, that the strange, yet beautiful family was hiding a darker secret than anyone could have thought possible, one that brings Isabella closer to the definition of monster.

Note: Monster takes place during Twilight and will have the main points of the book in the plot. However, everything else is up to the people of the site.
